How to use this guide: AffiliateDataset provides the factual program terms and evidence metadata used in examples. Marketing Affiliates independently produces the workflow, judgments, and conclusions. This is not a promise of earnings or a product endorsement.
Create a portfolio register
Assign every promoted program a stable AffiliateDataset record, internal owner, client or channel uses, approved disclosure, and next review date. Record why the tool is recommended separately from its commercial terms. This makes it possible to answer which proposals, resource hubs, onboarding packs, and campaigns are affected when a cookie, recurring duration, restriction, or application route changes.
Use change signals to focus human review
Compare scheduled API snapshots and route material diffs by risk: closed applications and new restrictions need immediate attention; commission changes need commercial and conflict review; stale evidence belongs in the research queue. Send the record link and affected assets with each task. AffiliateDataset supplies normalized changes, while account teams decide whether the client recommendation is still operationally sound.
Report conflicts and value separately
Maintain one dashboard for client outcomes—adoption, time saved, campaign performance, support load—and another for referral economics. Never use payout to break a product-fit tie without disclosure and procurement approval. Quarterly governance should review exceptions, overdue evidence, concentration by vendor, and whether clients could choose a non-affiliate route without losing implementation support.
